Design Problem

 

Recording and accessing work is no new problem. Many organizations struggle. And while there are countless products, D-Ford needed something more than a folder structure to capture the team’s collective memory and access it even as teams and projects evolve.

Approach

 

After completing stakeholder interviews and understanding the Product DNA, we set off in an exploratory, iterative approach. We conducted deep interviews using stimuli with users of all levels, roles, and geographic locations to understand the needs.

Following, we conducted deep exploration of the Information Architecture (IA) including Organization System, Navigation System, and Labelling System. We also spent a large chunk of time fleshing out the Metadata Structure. In tandem, we wireframed and designed the interface focusing on information structure and hierarchy.

After testing the product and another few rounds of iteration, this product is currently being developed.
